Cattle Shed Brew Co is a newly created brand from the well-established Old Dairy micro-brewery, based in Tenterden, Kent. Old Dairy is a well-established brewery, providing traditional ales to pubs and other brew shops across the south-east of England.
The Cattle Shed brand was envisaged as a means to allow Old Dairy to target a new market segment – the younger drinkers of ‘craft’ beers. This relatively recent phenomenon combines the brewing of more flavoursome beers with edgier branding and marketing. As the current branding of Old Dairy is aimed at a more traditional market, a new brand was deemed the best way to achieve the goal.
With a new brand being created, Old Dairy turned to Four Lakes to create a website that would reflect the image they wished to project for Cattle Shed Brew Co, whilst also offering them opportunities to move some manual processes online. In particular, Old Dairy were keen to create their own online shop (the current one is handled by an outside organisation), take bookings for brewery tours via the website, and to automate the integration with their mailing list software as much as possible. Old Dairy also wanted a website that was much more mobile friendly than their current site.
With the official launch of Cattle Shed Brew Co on 7th September as a fixed deadline, Four Lakes was able to create a website that delivered all that Old Dairy had on their wishlist. In addition, they also have the ability to make any website content changes themselves, meaning future updates will be much quicker and cheaper than they are now. They are already considering exciting new strategies for utilising the better integration across all their online marketing channels.
